There is some useful software that I have found out there that you might be interested in. The most helpful thing you can have when pursuing the hobby of RC aircraft, especially helicopters, is a simulator. This is software that you load on your PC that lets you use your controller to control an RC aircraft in a simulated but realistic environment. This allows you to both learn how to control a helicopter and "train" your fingers to react correctly as well as allow you to try things you wouldn't ordinarily do with your real helicopter. There is a freeware project going on right now on a simulator called FMS. I have found that while this software is not the same as what you will get from commercially available packages, it is very realistic for the basics and you just can't beat the price.
